Dental SEO built on what the top three in your town actually have

Patients pick a dentist from Google’s map and the few practices at the top of it. We recorded 1,353 dental listings in 118 US towns and audited 145 practice websites by hand. Our SEO for dentists works on the handful of things that separate the top three — and on the quiet problems that keep a practice out.

What the top three have in common

In the 64 towns where Google showed at least ten dental practices, the first three results had a median of 380 reviews; positions 4–20 had 79. Star ratings barely differ — 59% of all dental listings are rated 4.8 or higher — so the rating is the price of entry, not the advantage.

Reviews are not everything: in 52% of towns the most-reviewed practice was not in the top three. Google ranks local results by relevance, distance and prominence (Google’s own explanation), which is why a complete, accurate listing and a website that confirms it matter as much as the review count. What we work on

  • Your Google Business Profile. Categories and services, hours and phone that match your website, the website link itself, photos, and duplicate or outdated listings. In our audits 18% of practices had a listing that contradicted their site.
  • A steady flow of new reviews. Every patient is asked by text after the visit, with a direct link to your Google review form — sent from our CRM, so it happens every day without your front desk remembering. More on this in Google reviews for dentists.
  • Your website, as search engines read it. Page titles and headings that name the treatment and the town, image descriptions, practice and review markup (only 9% of the sites we measured had their rating marked up), and pages for the treatments you want more of.
  • Directories and citations. The address, phone and website that directories print for you — a dead domain there sends patients to a parking page or worse.
  • AI search. Clear, consistent facts on your site and listings, so ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google’s AI answers describe your practice correctly.
  • Measurement. Calls and booking requests from search land in the CRM with their source, so you see which patients SEO actually brought.

What we won’t do

We don’t guarantee rankings — nobody controls Google’s results, and anyone who promises a position is guessing. We don’t buy reviews or filter who gets asked for one: that breaks Google’s policies, the FTC’s 2024 rule bans fake and paid-for positive reviews, and it puts the listing at risk.

How we start

1 · Book a callTell us about your practice. Sixty seconds to ask, no cost to talk.
2 · We audit by handWe check your Google listing, website and funnel ourselves — and build a preview of your new site before we talk.
3 · One team runs itOn the call we map the plan together. Then one team runs it, and you stay chairside.

Questions dentists ask us

How many Google reviews does my dental practice need?

Look at the three practices Google shows first for “dentist” in your town — that is your target. Across 64 US towns we measured, the top three had a median of 380 reviews, against 79 for everyone below them.

What is the difference between dental SEO and local SEO?

Local SEO is about Google Maps and the local results — your Google Business Profile, reviews and how consistent your details are across the web. Dental SEO also covers your website: the pages, titles and markup that let Google match you to searches like “dental implants” or “emergency dentist” plus your town. A practice needs both.

Do I need a new website for SEO?

Not necessarily. We start with your Google listing and the site you already have. If the site itself is what holds you back, we build a preview of a new one first, so you can see it before you decide anything.

How quickly will I see results?

Fixes to your listing and website count as soon as Google reads them again; review volume builds month by month. Nobody controls Google’s ranking, so we don’t promise positions or dates — we show you what changed and which patients came from search, straight from your CRM.
